Phenix City, AL (June 15, 2013) – The Muscogee Roller Girls (MRG) saw victory in a 129-87 win over the Middle Georgia Derby Demons (MGDD).

Being the closest rival this season, everyone knew this bout would feature an even match up and some bad blood over MRG’s two previous losses to MGDD. From the starting jam whistle this bout was back and forth through half-time with neither team driving a commanding lead. MRG’s dominate walling techniques slowly became an insurmountable slippery slope which MGDD could not recover from.

MRG was firing on all cylinders in the second half making a grand display of what good endurance can yield. Offensively, MRG saw lead the majority of the time putting them in control of their small lead. MRG’s walling techniques caused MGDD to call off several jams which limited their comeback progress with MVP going to Raycer. All MRG jammers saw success this bout with MVP going to Chrissi Blocksberg. Both teams were disciplined with equal penalty counts. In the end MGDD could not regain control after the first half with MRG controlling both offense and defense.

Halftime featured a stellar performance from the jam skating sensation: The Bany Boys. Seeing their dance crew inspired performance really rallied the crowd and was enjoyed by everyone.

MRG goes up to 3-5 and on Saturday August 3, 2013 they will make the trip to Ft. Walton Beach to take on the Beach Brawl Sk8r Dolls.
