The Muscogee Rollergirls traveled to Augusta for their first tournament appearance of the 2016 season at the Soul City Sirens 3rd Annual Low Down Throw Down. Eight teams showed up to battle it out, some from as far away as Texas. On day 1, MRG played the Centex Rollergirls and fought hard to keep the score close but in the end it was Centex who prevailed with a win, 221-121. The game with Centex saw the debut of four new MRG skaters Sinderblock, Crush, Camille LeBloxx, and Pho Shizzle and they did an outstanding job. On day 2, MRG faced off against the Low Country Rollergirls of South Carolina and the number 1 seeded team of the tournament. Coming off the previous days loss, the girls were gunning for a win. MRG brought a better game with less penalties than their game on day 1 but it was not enough to save them from a loss. Low Country took the victory 215-102. On Day 3, the final day of the tournament, MRG was set to face an old nemesis, the Savannah Derby Devils and the new home team of MRG OG, Amberglar who moved to Savannah at the end of the 2015 season. After a sweet reunion with their old teammate, the ladies of MRG put their game face on and pulled out a win, 156-123. With their first tournament down in the books, they are back home and training hard for their next bout in Macon on July 16 where they will face the Middle Georgia Derby Demons.
